Survivor Tribute Gala

On Sunday, January 29, 2012 we will Celebrate 67 Years of Liberation, with a Tribute Gala to our Holocaust survivors, for their dedication and support to our Synagogue and the State of Israel, and the preservation of the memory of the 6 million who perished.  To commemorate this occasion, we will be publishing a photo book which will be distributed at the gala.  This letter will serve as an invitation for every survivor, or children of survivors, to please send us your current photo, or your parents’ photos if you are second generation, and tell us, briefly in three lines or less, of your accomplishments in life after the liberation, or in the form of remembrance at synagogues, museums, or of your special support to Israel.  All photos and info must be received by October 1st.  The photos and accomplishments will be placed in this special commemorative book.

The dinner will be free for all ATJC Holocaust survivor members, courtesy of Carole & William Landa.  However, to help defray the additional costs, and for the establishment of the ATJC Holocaust Endowment, for Jewish education thus assuring Jewish continuity, I am asking you to consider being a sponsor of this major event, and send your donation payable to ATJC Holocaust Endowment Fund.    Special sponsor recognition will be listed in the book, as well as on a plaque in the Memorial Gallery.  Sponsorship categories are:
  • Benefactors: $10,000
  • Guardians:    $  5,000
  • Founders:       $ 1,800          
  • Sponsors:       $ 1,000

15 Holocaust Survivors are needed to volunteer to meet
with students from the University of Miami
for a minimum 4 times during a semester,
usually in the Survivor’s home.
