Chairman of the Board, William Landa
Bill was born in Czechoslovakia, and came to the United States in 1951. After having spent two years in the US Army, Bill settled in Spring Valley, New York and immediately got involved in the construction business. He has resided in Florida for thirty years, and in the City of Aventura for over twenty years with his lovely wife, Carole. Carole and Bill have four children and nine grandchildren: Amy, Michael, Adam & Jason Landa; Tammy, David, Isaac, Eli & Sammy Fisher; Robert, Matthew & Rachel Lansburgh; Joanna, David, Zachary & Olivia Lansburgh. | Marcy S. Marcy
S. Resnik grew up in North Miami Beach. From an early age, synagogue life and
jewish education have been an important part of her life. During high school,
she served as President of the local chapter of B’nai B’rith Girls. She
continued to make Jewish Education paramount in her growing family’s life by
serving as Chairwoman of the Board of Education and President of the Tauber
Academy for ten years.
Marcy, an attorney specializing in Commercial Litigation and Family Law, is married to Dr. Barry I. Resnik. Together, they have 3 wonderful children, Sydney, age 19, Chad, age 16 and Lindsey, age 13. All of the Resnik children attended the Tauber Academy prior to moving to The Pine Crest School. In addition to the many positions Marcy has held at the Tauber Academy, she served as a Vice President of the Synagogue for many years as well as a member of the Executive Board for the past 15 years. She is also the Past President of the Pine Crest Lower School Mothers’ Club and served on the Pine Crest School Board of Advisors. |
Executive Vice President, Dr. Amir Baron
Dr. Amir Baron assumed the position of Executive Vice President of the ATJC in August 1990. Previously he served as Director of Education of Temple Emanu-El of Greater Miami and the Lehrman Day School on Miami Beach, and Director of Education of the Zionist Organization of America, Long Island Region, NewYork. Baron earned a Doctorate and Master’s degree in Education from the University of Pittsburgh his BA in Educational Administration from Bar-Ilan University in Ramat-Gan, Israel.
Baron was involved with the original design and construction of the state-of-the-art facilities that comprise the ATJC. He oversaw the creation of the beautiful stained glass windows and commissioned the renowned Israeli sculptor, Frank Meisler, to create the original art work that adorns the synagogue lobby and sanctuary. He initiated the hugely successful Cultural Lecture Series in 1992, bringing recognition and acclaim to the synagogue by attracting world famous guest speakers such as Israeli Prime Ministers Yitzhak Shamir, Shimon Peres, Benjamin Netanyahu and Ehud Olmert, former President and First Lady Bill and Hillary Clinton, U.S. Senators and Congressmen, and respected leaders in all fields that included distinguished rabbis, journalists and professors, such as New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman, Harvard professor and lawyer Alan Dershowitz.
