Religious School classes feature ideal student to teacher ratios and an innovative and engaging curriculum. Our goal is to enhance the Jewish curriculum, increase enrollment and make attendance at religious school an enjoyable place to learn, says Director, Cantor David Muchnick. Our hope is that by passing the traditional Jewish values to our children, succeeding generations will arise to take their places in the glorious chain of our heritage. Our dream is that you consider our school vital, not optional, in your child's development. The school cannot do it alone. Your support, encouragement, and participation in the process is crucial if your youngster is to proceed through Bar/Bat Mitzvah, High School and Confirmation. Our Religious School program for students in Kindergarten and Seventh grade meets on Friday evenings Family Services at 6:30 p.m. (must be accompanied by parent) and on Sundays from 9:00 a.m. - Noon. The school Curriculum will focus on the Hebrew language, prayers, history, Jewish heritage, observances and traditions. Hebrew High program for grades 8 - 12th. This is a wonderful opportunity not only for me but for our children as well. No longer will their involvement with Jewish education and their synagogue end after the 7th grade and Bar/Bat Mitzvah. They now have a wonderful opportunity to continue their Jewish learning with their friends and Cantor David, who teaches this class. The program discusses Jewish issues such as Israel politics, Arab and Israeli conflicts, Jewish ethics, etc, all of which is discussed in an open forum and geared for our teens. For those of you who have graduated and wish to continue with your Jewish education, this program could very well be for you. The class meets at the Synagogue in the School Wing every Thursday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. We certainly hope some of you might find these programs interesting and wish to participate. If you have any questions about the program, or registration, please feel free to contact me at 305-935-0666 ext 236 or email me at cantordavid@atjc.org.
